How to Extract Tamarind Juice

Soak the tamarind in quarter cup of hot water for 5-10 minutes.
Squeeze or crush the soaked tamarind with your hands and extract the juice in another dish.
Add one cup of luke warm water little by little, squeezing the juice out of the tamarind.

Discard the remaining squeezed out tamarind and add more water to the thick extracted tamarind juice according to the recipe.
The juice extracted in this manner adds a flavour and a delicious taste to the dishes.
