Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated by the hindus for Lord Ganesha, popularly known as ‘Elephant God’. The usual trend is to make or purchase a clay model idol of Lord Ganesha.
Each household has their own tradition and one such tradition in our family is to make the clay model idol ourselves –
this is immersed in water either in a river, pond or lake after performing the Pooja to the idol.
As is the tradition in most festivals, treats both sweet and savoury are prepared and enjoyed by the families!
